Wednesday morning crash in Elkhart sends one to the hospital
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart Sheriff's Office says one driver failed to yield to another at the intersection of S.R. 120 and C.R. 19 on Wednesday morning, resulting in a crash that sent one woman to the hospital.
Deputies say the call came in around 4:59 a.m. of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by 54-year-old Eric Stone of Elkhart that failed to yield to a 2018 Chevy Malibu driven by a 33-year-old Elkhart woman at the intersection.
The Jeep was turning left onto S.R. 120 from C.R. 19 and the Chevy was headed east on S.R. 120. Authorities say the Jeep pulled into the intersection in front of the Chevy.
The Chevy front end crashed into the Jeep's front driver's side, causing the driver of the Chevy arm, leg, and stomach pain.
She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital and Stone was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
Neither alcohol nor drugs is believed to be a factor in the crash.
