BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – The Veggie Van, a mobile farmer’s market that features locally grown fruits and vegetables, is bringing its harvest to Benton Harbor next week.

On Tuesday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents can visit the Center for Better Health at 100 W. Main Street to pick up a bag full of fresh fruits and veggies.

Only 100 bags will be given out on a first come, first served basis. The event is drive-through style, so participants should remain in their cars to receive their produce.

Free personal protective equipment kits will also be handed out.

The Veggie Van program is designed with the goal of ensuring people who have limited access to fresh produce are able to get their fill.

The Veggie Van is supported by Spectrum Health and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in partnership with Spectrum Health Lakeland and the YMCA of Greater Michiana.
