Gun malfunction sends two people, including eight-year-old, to hospital

CASS COUNTY, Mich.—Two people were sent to the hospital after an incident involving a gun malfunction on Sunday night.

Around 8:44 p.m. on December 6, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were called to a firearm incident that injured two people. The Edwardsburg Police Department assisted with the call.

A 28-year-old man and an eight-year-old were outside of a home target practicing when the firearm they were using malfunctioned, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both were injured in the incident and taken to the hospital where they were listed as being in stable condition as of Monday morning.
