Two people injured in Cass County crash on Wednesday

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Deputies responded to reports of a two-vehicle incident on Wednesday around 7 a.m. on Paradise Lake Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Responding deputies say that a Ford Escape was traveling around a curve on Paradise Lake Road, and the driver’s vision was distorted by the sun shining through a crack in their windshield.

The driver was unable to see where they were at on the road, and crossed the center lane, striking a Jeep Wrangler head on, according to police.

The driver of the Jeep suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to Elkhart Hospital.

The driver of the Escape did not suffer any injuries, although a passenger was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by ambulance.

Officials say that no alcohol was involved in the incident and that seatbelts were worn by both parties in the crash.
