SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department welcomed two new Battalion Chiefs to the department on Monday.  

Captain Andy Petrie and Captain Mat Willoughby were appointed to Battalion Chief alongside Mayor James Muller and their families in the Mayor's Office. 

Battalion Chief Petrie joined the South Bend Fire Department in 1998, and Battalion Chief Willoughby joined the department in 2002.

Their promotions reflect their leadership, experience, and dedication to serving both the department and the City of South Bend.
