Two Kosciusko County communities awarded construction grants totaling over $1M

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- It was announced on Wednesday that the City of Warsaw and Fellowship Missions, and the Town of Claypool are receiving construction grant awards funded through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Blight Clearance Program and the Wastewater/Drinking Water Program.
Warsaw and Fellowship Missions were awarded $500,000 from the Blight Clearance Program to demolish two blighted buildings and remove asbestos-contaminated materials at 1624 East Winona Avenue in Warsaw.
The Town of Claypool was awarded $750,000 to make necessary improvements to its wastewater system. The proposed project will improve the wastewater treatment plant, the collection system, and the lift stations.
The Kosciusko communities were just two of the 15 rural communities that will receive more than $9.4 million in federal grant funding to expand community facilities, improve water infrastructure and eliminate blight.
