UPDATE: Marshall County Coroner Dean Byers identified the three deceased children as 13-year-old Glenda Jo Yoder, 10-year-old Darrell Yoder, and 9-year-old Devon Yoder, all siblings.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports the three children were on their way to school in Bremen on Wednesday morning when a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLA, driven by a 17-year-old, hit their small horse drawn cart from behind around 8 a.m.

The cart was being pulled by a single pony.

The three kids were ejected from the cart and were declared dead at the scene.

Authorities say the crash occurred just south of Bremen near Fir Road and Fourth Road.

Fir Road was closed for about three hours.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.

ORIGINAL: MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Coroner confirmed to ABC57 News that three juveniles are dead following a Wednesday morning crash involving a car and horse and buggy near Fir and Fourth Roads.

The three juveniles, whose ages are unknown, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is asking motorists to avoid the area at this time.
