Three arrested after high-speed police pursuit

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. – According to Indiana State Police, several troopers from the Fort Wayne Post became involved in a high speed vehicle pursuit, traveling westbound on US30 at approximately 7:00 a.m. The high speed vehicle pursuit began just west of Columbia City, lasting nearly 30 miles into Kosciusko County.

Indiana State Police said Master Trooper Todd Reed had attempted to stop a 2019 Nissan Sentra passenger car traveling at over 90 m.p.h. The driver, Devonte Perkins, 37, sped off-rather than pulling over-and attempted to evade officers from multiple agencies.

Once entering Kosciusko County, de-escalation tactics were attempted and proved successful. Indiana State Police said the pursuit ended just west of Warsaw on CR200S, at approximately 7:40 a.m.

According to the Indiana State Police, there were two others along with Perkins in the car: Jahnesha Thompson, 37 and Terrell Morrow Jr., 32.

All three occupants were placed under arrest on various felony and misdemeanor charges, police said.
