Third Street in Niles closing Monday for intersection rebuilding

NILES, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Transportation will be closing Third Street, south of US 12, as a part of the next phase of intersection rebuilding begins.
The closure, from US 12 to Bell Road, is expected to last for four weeks as crews will be working to rebuild the south half of the US 12 and Third Street intersection.
The rebuilding is a part of a $27 million investment to rebuild the US 12 and M 51 intersection, along with rebuilding one mile of US 12 and 2.7 miles of M51.
The investment is expected to support 383 jobs.
