Teenager arrested in Pin Oak Apartments shooting, charged as adult

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department reports they've arrested a teenage suspect in connection with the Pin Oak Apartments shooting which occurred on Tuesday, June 18.

16-year-old Brandon Lamont Brown, of South Bend, has been arrested and charged as an adult in this case. 

Brown is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail. 

He was arrested by detectives from the Mishawaka Police Department.

Brown is charged with Attempted Murder, a level one felony, Armed Robbery, a level three felony, Aggravated Battery, a level three felony, Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, a level five felony, and Dangerous Possession of a Firearm, a level five felony.

Police responded near Pin Oak Apartments on Tuesday, June 18, after a call came in around 8:45 p.m.

Mishawaka police say the shooting was the result of a drug deal, which led to 20-year-old Ethan Grimmig being shot in the neck.

Grimmig was taken to the hospital and at last update was in stable condition.
