CASS COUNTY, Mich. - Derrick Pratcher, the 33-year-old suspect in the deadly shooting of Robert Pulliam, Jr., on Sunday, is being held in the Cass County Jail but that could change at any minute. Soon, Pratcher will be sent back to South Bend where he will await trial.

Pratcher faces one count of murder on top of other charges.

Wednesday, he stood before the judge in Cass County where he waived his extradition.

The Cass County Prosecutor was there and told ABC57 Pratcher will be heading to South Bend in the next 24 hours.

After the suspect's car was pinged to Dr. Lawless Park in Vandalia, parkgoers and staff were shocked to hear the suspect was found parked in the quiet parking lot that uses an honor system to pay.

The undersheriff said it is not uncommon for suspects to be found across state lines.

"Being so close to Indiana, it's not uncommon for people that commit crimes down there to end up here in Michigan and vice versa," said Undersheriff Clinton Roche. "So it's not a surprise, it’s a common occurrence unfortunately."
