BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Sunrise Rotary Club in Benton Harbor held its thirtieth annual Thanksgiving basket donation Wednesday.
The Club used their weekly meeting to pack complete Thanksgiving dinners for 17 families in the area.
All the food was provided by Rotarians except the dinner rolls, which were donated by Martin's Super Market. The baskets include turkey with all the fixings and even a holiday table runner that was sewn by an anonymous donor.
"We give to the community, whether it's families in need or trying to assist with water projects internationally, service above self." said Cindy Kinney, Board Member and former President of Benton Harbor Rotary Club. "So, all of these donated items will help a family, you know, maybe instead of having to buy all these dinner items, maybe they can, you know, purchase gas, or maybe they'll do something fun with their family instead. But it's all about service above self."
People with "Flowers Early Learning" in Berrien County delivered the baskets this morning, allowing the families plenty of time to prepare their feasts.
