A warm and sunny week’s end, but a snowy weekend
Preschool suspension rates are up across the nation, according to a Civil Rights Data Collection Survey.
The study also shows that black students are 3.6 times more likely to get 1 or more out-of-school suspensions as white preschool students.
Out of all the students enrolled in pre-school, 20 percent are black girls and more than half have been suspended.
ABC 57 talked with Ramal Winfield, the owner of Bright Beginning Childcare in South Bend, to get a better understanding of why suspension rates are increasing.
