UPDATE: One dead after semitruck roll-over crash, fire, on I-94 in Berrien County
Katie Odom UPDATE: Berrien County officials confirm that a 22-year-old man from Chicago died in this crash.
Officers were called to the east-bound lanes of I-94 at the 40.5 mile marker. Officials say the cab of the semi was engulfed in flames when deputies arrived at the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say the truck was hauling bottled water, with no hazardous material.
The crash remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A stretch of I-94 in Berrien County is currently closed as crews respond to an investigate a semitruck fire.
Coloma Township police officials say eastbound lanes are closed from exit 39 to exit 41.
There is not an estimate as to when they will reopen. Drivers are asked to use an alternate route for the time being.
