List of stores open and stores with special hours for at-risk customers

Due to the CDC’s recommendation that residents avoid large gatherings and practice “social distancing,” many stores and businesses in Michiana have closed or amended their hours of operation.

Other major retailers and local stores are opting to stay open.

STORES WITH SPECIAL HOURS FOR AT-RISK SHOPPERS

  • Dollar General will close one hour earlier than regular closing time and dedicate the first hour of shopping daily to senior citizens. Regular store hours can be found here
  • Kroger has changed its store hours in multiple regions, including Michigan, where stores will be open from 7 a.m. to  9 p.m. In Michigan, Kroger has shopping for seniors 60 & older on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 – 8 a.m. More info
  • Martin’s Super Markets, said in a letter to customers that its stores are open. Seniors, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals can shop during reserved hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., which aligns with their senior savings days. 
  • Meijer stores will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Senior citizens and other at-risk shoppers can shot Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 - 8 a.m. Essential service workers can shop from 7-8 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. More info
  • Purple Porch Co-op in South Bend is operating under normal business hours. Wednesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. are dedicated to at-risk shoppers. At all times, the store will be limiting access to 12 customers at a time. More info
  • Sam's Club has special shopping hours and a concierge service for seniors and those at risk. Beginning March 26, Sam’s Club locations nationwide will offer early shopping hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for seniors and those with disabilities or compromised immune systems. This includes our pharmacy and optical centers and will last until further notice. For the concierge service, at-risk customers park in a designated location and can place their order from their car. A Sam’s Club associate will grab the items on the list.
  • Shelton's Farm Market in Niles has shopping for at risk shoppers from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Target stores will close by 9 p.m. daily and the first hour of shopping on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be dedicated to support the elderly and those with underlying health conditions. More info
  • Walmart stores will be open 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until further notice. From March 24 through April 28, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This will start one hour before the store opens. Our Pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open during this time.  More info

STORES THAT HAVE CHANGED THEIR HOURS

  • Aldi stores will now be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until further notice. More info
  • Bamber's Superette Food Market in Mishawaka is open with normal operating hours
  • Best Buy stores have shortened their hours of operation. More info
  • All Biggby Coffee locations are transitioning to drive-thru and carry out services only. Individual locations will decide their hours
  • Costco stores are open. Read the company’s letter to customers
  • CVS Pharmacy stores are open but are promoting their capacity for video visits and free Rx deliveries. More info

  • Martin’s Super Markets, said in a letter to customers that its stores are open. Special shopping hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on March 19 and the following Tuesday and Thursday will be dedicated to at-risk shoppers.
  • Menards has adjusted its store hours to be Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Menards is no longer allowing children under age 16 into stores. Pets are no longer allowed in but service dogs are welcome. More info

  • Sam’s Club is shifting all store hours to 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sam's Club also has special shopping hours and a concierge service for seniors and those at risk.   • PLATO's Closet Mishawaka is temporarily closed until further notice.
  • GAP stores are closed for two weeks starting March 19.
  • Old Navy is closing all stores in the U.S. temporarily starting March 19. More info
  • All IKEA stores in the U.S. are temporarily closed. More info
  • All TJX Company retail locations and website will close for two weeks starting March 19, including T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls stores. More info
  • All Kohl's stores will temporarily close nationwide starting March 19 at 7 p.m. More info
  • Orchards Mall in Benton Harbor will temporarily close until further notice.
  • Simon, who owns University Park Mall in Mishawaka and Lighthouse Premium Outlets in Michigan City, has temporarily closed all retail properties in the United States. 
  • All Disney stores in North America are temporarily closed.
  • All U.S. Sephora locations will be closed until further notice.
  • All LOFT stores will remain closed through April 11.
  • All Macy's, Inc. stores will be closed until further notice. The closure includes all Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Bluemercury, Macy's Backstage, Bloomingdale's the Outlet, and Market by Macy's stores
  • The Imagination Spot in Goshen is closed until further notice. Their online store is still open
  • Bath and Body Works will close all stores in the U.S. until further notice
  • All AMC Theatres in the U.S. will close for at least six to 12 weeks, according to the company
  • Strikes & Spares will be closed until further notice
  • Abercrombie & Fitch will close all stores in North America starting March 15
  • All Apple stores outside of the greater China region will close as of March 14
  • Nike is closing all U.S. stores starting March 16
  • LUSH Cosmetics will close all retail stores in the U.S. until further notice.
  • Victoria’s Secret Pink has closed all of its stores in the U.S. until further notice
