UPDATE: Suspect arrested in connection with deadly North Judson hit-and-run
Starke County Justice Center: Connor Dvorscak UPDATE: A North Judson man is in jail facing charges related to the June 29 hit-and-run which left 45-year-old Phillip Land dead.
The Starke County Sheriff's Office reports Land was struck and killed while riding his biked on 350 W. south of 500 S. in North Judson.
The vehicle involved fled the scene
Authorities processed the scene for evidence and followed up on leads. Investigators used videos near the scene along with the Flock license plate reader system to identify the suspect vehicle as a black 2019 Nissan pickup.
The report states the truck was located and it had evidence of the crash on it.
The suspect driver was identified as 30-year-old Connor Dvorscak.
Dvorscak is formally charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, a Level 4 Felony.
An arrest warrant was issued for Dvorscak through the Starke Circuit Court. He was taken into custody Tuesday.
Dvorscak was booked into the Starke County Justice Center and is held on a $50,000 cash bond.
ORIGINAL STORY: STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Starke County Sheriff's Office has released new suspect details in a suspected hit and run crash.
Investigators say deputies were dispatched just before 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27 to the area of C.R. 350 West and C.R 500 South near North Judson. Officers found the body of 45-year-old Phillip Land of Knox on the scene.
The department says it believes the suspect vehicle is a black 2016-2024 Nissan Titan XD pickup truck, with likely damage to the front passenger-side corner.
The investigation is ongoing.
