Starke Co. woman sentenced to 17 years in prison on drug charges

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A Starke County woman has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prison for dealing in methamphetamine, according to the La Porte County prosecutor's office.

Sarah Marie Jaskowiak, of Hamlet, was arrested on October 15, 2018 for dealing over 11 grams of methamphetamine in Wanatah, Indiana, reports said.

In November 2019, Jaskowiak entered a plea of guilty to dealing in methamphetamine.

On January 3, Jaskowiak was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison. The prosecutor's office asked for an enhanced prison term due to her "extensive prior criminal history," which included 22 arrests.
