South Shore Lines offering extra rides for Saint Patrick's Day weekend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line is offering extra passenger trains Saturday March 15, due to the expected increase of people traveling for the Chicago Saint Patrick's Day Parade.
The morning of March 15, three extra westbound trains will be in use to transport riders to Chicago, prior to the beginning of the parade and the dyeing of the river.
These three trains are set to depart as follows:
- Westbound extra train one will depart Carroll Ave. just prior to Tr 502 at 7:24 a.m.
- Westbound extra train two will depart Carroll Ave. just prior to Tr 504 at 8:27 a.m.
- Westbound extra train three will depart Carroll Ave. just prior to Tr 506 at 9:29 a.m.
In the afternoon, three extra eastbound trains will be in use to provide additional support for travelers leaving Chicago.
These three trains are set to depart as follows:
- Eastbound extra train one will depart Millennium Station at 3:20 p.m. (Van Buren St. at 3:22 p.m.).
- Eastbound extra train two will depart Millennium Station at 4:57 p.m. (Van Buren St. at 4:59 p.m.).
- Eastbound extra train three will depart Millennium Station at 6:39 p.m. (Van Buren St. at 6:41 p.m.).
The South Shore Line wants to also remind passengers that alcohol is prohibited on all trains on both March 15 and 16.
In addition, glass bottles are prohibited at all times.
