UPDATE: South Shore Line trains are now on the move

UPDATE (10:18 p.m.): South Shore Line trains are now on the move.

UPDATE (6:06 p.m.): NIPSCO estimates gas line repairs to be completed around 6pm. Due to a lack of busing availability, trains will continue to be held at stations surrounding Gary Metro Center and Miller until they have been released.

UPDATE (4:52 p.m.): All trains will remain stopped while NIPSCO works on gas line repairs. Substitute busing arrangements for passengers are currently in progress. Updates to follow.

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line announced on Thursday that afternoon trains will be temporarily stopped due to a NIPSCO gas line break in between Gary Metro Center and Miller stations.

The time of delay is unknown. We will update this article as more information becomes available.
