South Shore Line passengers should expect delays July 13-21
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line has announced a joint construction project with Metra that will cause possible delays from July 13-21.
The construction involves Metra tracks in Chicago but will impact the entire train schedule.
"The joint project will add a fourth track and platform between Millennium Station and Museum Campus/11th St. in Chicago to accommodate the expansion of SSL’s train service into downtown," SSL officials said. "It will also involve upgrades to Metra’s interlocking plant in Chicago. SSL thanks its riders for their patience during this construction effort."
Riders should prepare for delays and allow for extra travel time for the week of July 13-21.
For the latest details on specific delays during this period, passengers should regularly check the South Shore Line Service Updates website.
