South Bend Regional Chamber honors local leaders at Salute to Business

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Century Center in South Bend held the Salute to Business event organized by the South Bend Regional Chamber on Thursday.  

The event included awards for distinguished business leaders, young leaders, women of influence, small businesses of the year, and those with significant economic impact.

There was a keynote speaker, Mel Rains, a South Bend native and president of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever, who returned to her hometown for the first time to speak at the event.

Jeff Rea, President CEO of the South Bend Regional Chamber, stated, "We're really celebrate what's happening in the business community. There's a great deal of economic momentum happening here. Our business leaders are playing in a critical role in that. So, it's kind of a celebration. We do awards, and every year we recognize those that are making some outstanding achievements. We do a distinguished business leader and a young business leader and a woman of influence and a small business the year an economic impact and a lifting Voices Award. We had over 1000 guests today as part of that."
