SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Tuesday morning, the South Bend Police Department added nine new officers to the department. 

The South Bend Police Merit Board approved the hiring of the newest police officers. 

The new officers graduated the Northern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy last month and will now enter into post-basic training at the South Bend Police Department. 

The nine new officers are Nikolas Dandino, Dalton Davis, Matthew Elmerick, Steven Gagyi, Shane Kreft, Brandon Krugler, Marvin Lafleur, William Lee, and Marco Lozano.
