If you feel out of time when it comes to your family’s summertime childcare arrangements, there are options available.
Children 7-18 can still register for the South Bend Police Athletic League's Tennis and All Sports Camps, free of charge, using this link.
The Camp allows police officers and coaches to mentor kids as they engage in a variety of sports and activities.
This is Captain David Herron’s 15th year as the PAL Coordinator. He says the camp is about learning more than camp games.
"It’s a very good program…for mentoring and teaching kids not only to respect others but to respect themselves…how do we expect them to respect others, so we do a lot of conflict resolution and empowerment,” he said.
The camps run through July 28th.
