Skeletal remains found in creek bed
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Officers from the St. Joseph County Police Department responded to a call of skeletal remains being found just before noon on Saturday, November 28th. The remains were confirmed to be from a human.
The police arrived on the scene in the 24000 block of Stanton Road in North Liberty where a concerned citizen directed them to the remains.
The skeletal remains were in a creek bed and confirmed as human, though their identity has yet to be determined.
The St. Joseph County Coroner’s Office and St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit were both contacted, with CMHU taking over the investigation.
An autopsy will be conducted in Fort Wayne.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
