Single-vehicle injury crash in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. --The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle injury crash, that resulted in both the driver and passenger injured, on Jul. 20. 

A 2014 Ford vehicle was going northbound on S.R. 15, north of C.R. 112, where the driver was unable to maintain their lane, drove off the west side of S.R. 15 north of C.R. 112, and down an embankment. 

The vehicle struck a culvert, with the front end of the vehicle at the driveway of 55371 S.R. 15. 

Both the driver and passenger were transported to the Elkhart General Hospital with incapacitating injuries, which the driver had two broken femurs, and the passenger had complaints of neck and back pain. 

This crash still remains under investigation.
