Showers and storms this morning, severe weather in the evening
Scattered showers and breezy conditions greet those heading out the door this morning in Michiana. Expect the light rain to stick around with additional scattered non-severe thunderstorms later this morning until noon. Gradual clearing and warming occurs this afternoon, leading us into another round of potentially severe weather this evening. The longer showers from the first round last into the afternoon, the less of a severe risk in the evening. Mild, even slightly humid weather, will be widespread in the late afternoon with highs near 70 degrees. A broken line of thunderstorms, some of which will likely be severe, passes through the area from the southwest to northeast beginning around 6 PM and ending towards midnight. Straight-line damaging winds and small hail are the biggest concerns, but brief tornadoes are possible too in the evening line. The area is much quieter and sunnier Thursday and Friday, with both days near 60 degrees and mostly cloudy.
Today: AM/PM thunderstorms. High 68.
Tonight: Thunderstorms. Low 50.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy. High 60.
Friday: Mostly cloudy. High 58.
