CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- At around 10:30am Saturday, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash in the area of M51 and Crystal Springs St. in Pokagon Township in Cass County Michigan.

The investigation showed that a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Thomas Hanson of Niles was heading northbound on M51 when he rear-ended another vehicle that was also heading northbound on M51. That vehicle was driven by 63-year-old Brian Bowditch of Portage.

Hanson and his passengers, one adult and five juveniles, were transported to Memorial Hospital and Niles Corwell Health for their injuries.

Police say the juveniles were not wearing their seatbelts or in proper child restraints at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
