LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A Florida man is dead following a crash with another semi-truck's trailer Wednesday night.

The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of US 30 and S.R. 39 around 10:17 p.m., regarding a crash between two semi-trucks. Officials say the traffic lights at the intersection were not operation at the time of the crash.

The sheriff's office reports that one of the trucks had stopped at the intersection for the non-operational device. That's when officials say another semi, driven by 32-year-old Johnny Rodriguez, crashed into the trailer the first truck was hauling.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information was provided about the driver of the other semi.
