UPDATE TWO: The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office reports St. Joseph County Police officers responded to a crash on Cleveland Road near Swanson Drive in South Bend.

Police arrived to find a collision occurred between a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 72-year-old Edward Joseph Dunne of South Bend, was pronounced dead on the scene.

St. Joesph FACT was then activated.

The initial investigation determined the passenger vehicle, driven by Dunne, was traveling east on Cleveland Road when he crossed the center line.

Dunne then crashed into a truck, driven by a 51-year-old Mishawaka man, traveling west.

The truck's driver cooperated with authorities and was taken to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by FACT.

UPDATE: Police say as of 4:18 p.m., the road has reopened.

ORIGINAL STORY: ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department reports both lanes of Cleveland Road between Parker and Swanson Drives due to a two-vehicle crash around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.

Police say at least one person is dead from the crash.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is now investigating.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.
