Groundbreaking for phase two of ’The Cascade’
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - In 2023, too many children were killed by guns in Michiana. In fact, it’s the leading cause of death nationally for people under the age of 18, surpassing car accidents in 2020.
In South Bend, four children lost their lives to gun violence this year.
Mychael Winston, Director of Goodwill S.A.V.E. (Stand Against Violence Everyday) Outreach, said ending gun violence starts with relationships.
"You show up, you be consistent, a consistent presence in their lives, and then they’ll open up to you.”
