SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Democrat Candidate Scott Ruzskowski takes a commanding 63% of the votes to Republican candidate Rod Laureys' 37%, making Ruzskowski the new Sheriff of St. Joseph County.

Ruzskowski commented on the win, calling it an emotional one.

"I hit every single emotion you could possibly imagine," Ruzskowski said. "I mean, I got, you know, I got two boys that are ones at IU Bloomington and ones at Ball State, and then my third one's up here. But they all got on FaceTime or whatever and hit me up on this thing, and I'm talking to them, and it's just, dude. I mean, it's. I can't even describe other than every single and every emotion, anger and pain on top."
