SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The River Valley Farmers' Market at the Commerce Center is pushing aside the norms of reindeer's being the top animal associated with the holiday season.
Rebecca Miller, Coordinator of the market, brought in Polka-Dotty, her five-month-old goat, for the market's holiday event on Saturday.
Polka-dotty was the star of the show alongside Santa Claus, and kids could visit either of them free of charge.
Miller hopes that more free events like Saturday's will attract attention to the market.
"It really brings a lot of awareness and people can see how unique we are and how great the items we have are. The personalities are wonderful, everyone pulls together, everyone's friendly and helpful." said Miller.
With five years of operation already behind them, market organizers and vendors hope to see events like this one continue to grow the space.
"We would love to see it bigger and maybe expand out to have as many vendors as we can fit inside here at one time." said Angel Gomez, one of the longest tenured vendors at the market.
More information about the River Valley Farmers' Market can be found on their Facebook page.
