UPDATE: 17-year-old identified as deceased victim in Frances Street shooting

UPDATE TWO: South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit announced the Monday afternoon's shooting left 17-year-old Malik Duncan fatally wounded.

The other two wounded have been identified as a 19-year-old and 16-year-old, both males.

The two wounded teens were treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains active.

UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department reported that upon arrival the officers located three people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

One of the wounded died from his injuries, while the other two are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. 

This remains an active and ongoing investigation by the SBPD’s Violent Crimes Unit.

ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department confirmed to ABC57 a shooting occurred Monday afternoon, resulting in three people being injured.

Police say the call came in around 4 p.m.

One of the injured is in critical condition according to police.

Authorities have not announced any arrests at this time, but they say there's no danger to the public.

Officers are speaking with residents in the area collecting evidence.

Several units remain on scene as of 5 p.m., Monday.
