Community says farewell to Jaworski’s Market
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- ADEC hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday for the organization’s new location on the south side of South Bend.
The organization has been creating safe spaces and interaction portals for individuals with developmental disabilities for decades.
Along with rooms providing various therapies for visitors, the new location houses a sensory room that combines a range of stimuli that will help participants further engage their senses.
“It provides a very safe place for people to go that have intellectual and development disabilities. It helps to maintain their communication skills, their vocational skills. There is going to be therapies for children, music, and rec, and behavior. It’s a really big day for families that need that support,” said Donna Belusar, President and CEO of ADEC.
The location’s quiet residential area also provides visitors with outdoor spaces and a walking path to enjoy.
