Colder Monday, more storms Wednesday
Rain returns, a soggy end to 2024, the warmest year on record in South Bend ( all of Michiana climate region). Plan for rain showers through the day Thursday, changing to scattered rain/snow showers New Year's Eve. Light lake effect snow flurries are expected, in the snow belt, Wednesday. The New Year brings the return of winter. Highs in the the 20s through the weekend and teens next week. Cold but not extreme cold, for this time of year. There's the possibility of a winter storm next Sunday-Monday-Tuesday, but we are still very much in the early stages to determinizing the track of the storm, with varied impacts.
Tonight: Showers late. Low 36.
Tuesday: Rain showers. High 40.
New Year's Day: Mostly cloudy, flurries. High 32.
Thursday: Partly cloudy. High 28.
