Railway crossing grading will close parts of Mentone intersection for roughly three weeks
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana Department of Transportation officials announced on Tuesday that Norfolk Southern Railway will close their grade crossings at the intersection of S.R. 25 and S.R. 19 in Mentone on or after Aug. 5.
The closure of the crossing will result in a closure of the west and south legs of the intersection as well.
"These two railroad crossings will be closed for approximately three weeks to be rebuilt," INDOT officials said. "Motorists are encouraged to avoid the intersection while work is ongoing, but the north and east legs of the intersection will remain open and accessible."
S.R. 25 will be closed between Walnut Street east to S.R. 19, and the official detour will follow S.R. 331, S.R. 10 and S.R. 19.
"S.R. 19 will be closed between S.R. 25 south to Monroe Street," INDOT officials said. "The official detour will follow S.R. 25 and S.R. 14."
