Quiet today, storm threat tomorrow and Wednesday

NOW: Quiet today, storm threat tomorrow and Wednesday

Clouds this morning move out later in the day with sunshine expected this afternoon, especially after 4PM. Most will stay completely dry, but showers in central Indiana could extend slightly further north this afternoon, giving areas south of US-30 the chance for a few raindrops. Temperatures in the upper 40s this morning rise into the mid 70s this afternoon.

The main focus of this forecast is on the storm threat tomorrow-Wednesday. Starting with Tuesday, our first round of storms will come with the storm system's warm front as a line around 10AM/11AM, moving out in the early afternoon. The main concerns with this line will be the potential for large hail and damaging winds, but tornadoes cannot be ruled out, especially if the line slows down to have a later arrival time. What we see in round 1 and when we see it will determine what happens in the afternoon. Right now, we expect scattered thunderstorms following the main line of convection out ahead of the system's cold front, also during the time when many severe weather parameters are maximized. The afternoon seems to be the most likely time for severe storms, but the timing of convection early in the day will dictate the afternoon/evening outcome.

Although we're drier Tuesday night, another storm threat arrives Wednesday evening, although severe weather parameters will be more limited and the greatest threat stays further south. Stay weather aware and stick with ABC57 for updates these next few days.
