SOUTH BEND, Ind. - With all proms and graduations cancelled by the Coronavirus this year, one principal is finding his own way to honor the class of 2020.

John Kennedy, the Saint Joseph High School principal, is running a mile for each member of this year's senior class.

Kennedy began his journey on April 5th by running his first four miles, and has logged 68 miles so far.

John Kennedy says, "We have great students. We love them, we miss them, we care about them and then especially for the seniors. We know this is not how you want your high school career to end. The last quarter of your senior year is the fun part."

He is listing a senior's name for each mile ran on his Twitter account.

There are 197 seniors at South Bend Saint Joseph this year, and that will be how many miles Kennedy needs to run to honor all of them.

Kennedy runs about five miles a day, roughly six days a week.

His goal is to be done by their final day of e-learning set for for May19th.
