Portable restrooms set up around Elkhart as public buildings remain closed

ELKHART, Ind. – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses and public buildings have closed their doors. This has a definite impact on the homeless whom now have many less public restrooms to use.

In order to address this issue within the community, multiple portable restrooms have been set up around the city of Elkhart.

This was made possible by combined efforts from the Elkhart County Unified Command, City of Elkhart’s Major Roberson, and the Elkhart Homeless Outreach Proactive Encouragement (HOPE) team.
