Police investigating stabbing on Lafayette Boulevard

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the 400 block of S. Lafayette Boulevard Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the area around 12:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a 49-year-old man with cuts to his arm, chin and the top of his head.

The victim's injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The victim told police he was fighting with a man he didn't know and was stabbed.

Police said a knife was recovered from the scene.
