Police: Deceased worker found near fire in Plymouth

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind.—A worker was found deceased near the scene of a late night fire on September 16 in Plymouth, according to the Marshall County Police Department.

On September 16 around 10:58 p.m. police and fire officials responded to a location near the 12000 block of 14th Road in Plymouth for multiple reports of an individual needing assistance and a fire.

When emergency crews arrived, a fire was located in and near a barn.

During a search of the area, a worker was found deceased near the fire, according to Marshall County Police.

The victim was identified as David Chavez Fajardo, 22, or Logansport.

An investigation into the incident showed that a “workplace accident resulted in the death of the worker,” according to police.

The cause of the fire is unknown but an LP tank believed to have been damaged early in the incident is suspected to be involved in causing the fire.
