Pokagon Band of Potawatomi reveal gingerbread villages at local casinos
NEW BUFFALO, Mich. -- The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ and its Four Winds Casinos are unveiling gingerbread villages at their New Buffalo and South Bend locations just in time for the holidays.
A spokesperson for the Potawatomi said, in total, more than 1,350 pounds of ingredients were split between two displays including 900 pounds of gingerbread, 400 pounds of royal icing, 20 pounds of fondant, and 30 pounds of chocolate.
On top of all that, both displays also feature all kinds of candies including candy canes, mints, jellies, and M&M’s.
“This year, we decided to allow our creative team to explore their artistic ideas without a specific theme," Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage for Four Winds Casinos Craig Lewkowitz said.
"This approach aimed to encourage creativity and produce a diverse range of designs that would appeal to all ages. We really hope our guests enjoy the villages and appreciate the hard work that went into creating these festive holiday displays.”
