Plymouth Motor Speedway cancels two concerts due to low ticket sales
PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Plymouth Motor Speedway announced via Facebook they've been forced to cancel Friday night's concert with Night Ranger, Jackyl, FireHouse, and Enuff Z Nuff, and Friday, August 9's concert with TobyMac, Tenth Ave North, and Cochren & Co. due to low ticket sales.
Over the past three seasons, speedway officials say their team has tried their best to provide a platform for musical performances of all genres in a beautiful setting that people in the community deserve.
After promotional efforts including radio, TV, and handing out over 10,000 flyers all over northern Indiana, officials state they did not meet the financial thresholds to support these summer concerts.
Officials also say over the past two years, the speedway has taken significant losses with the concerts while trying to grow the venue and can't continue to do so.
Speedway officials say their plan is to take time to regroup and revisit the concept of future concerts.
All purchased tickets will be automatically refunded, and the process is already underway, according to the speedway's announcement.
If you purchased tickets in person, you're asked to reach out directly to the Plymouth Motor Speedway at [email protected] for information on obtaining your refund.
The speedway will move forward with the August 30 concert with Hairball, a bombastic celebration of arena rock.
Speedway officials invite anyone who purchased tickets to either of the cancelled shows to come enjoy the August 30 show at no additional cost.
They add all you have to do is show your tickets for either of the cancelled shows and walk right in.
