Plymouth High School names Brent Corbett as interim head football coach

Plymouth High School: Brent Corbett

PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- Following the resignation of Ron Shaffer as head football coach, Plymouth High School has named Brent Corbett as interim head football coach for the 2026-27 school year.

School officials say Corbett is a former standout Rockie football player from 2003-07 and has coached football from 2011 to the present in a variety of roles, including linebackers coach, secondary coach, and defensive coordinator.

Officials say Corbett has met with current players and will communicate with parents regarding summer plans, schedules, and program expectations ahead of the upcoming season.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead this program," said Corbett. "Rockie football means a great deal to me personally, and I'm excited to work with our student-athletes, coaches, and community. Our goal is to build Rockie football back to the championship-level teams of the past while creating a program and team our community can be proud to support."

Information regarding summer workouts, team meetings, and schedules will be shared with players and families soon.
