Plea agreement reached for murder case involving allegations of misconduct
**UPDATE (3/15): Based on time served, Tyre Bradbury was released from custody following the plea agreement**
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A plea agreement has been reached in a murder case involving allegations of misconduct by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office and now-disbanded County Metro Homicide Unit.
Thursday, the Prosecutor's Office announced a plea agreement with Tyre Bradbury, who was convicted of murder following a 2014 shootout where a stray bullet killed a two-year old boy.
Bradbury was initially convicted of murder, with a criminal gang enhancement, and sentenced to 60 years in prison. Under the agreement, Bradbury pleaded guilty to Aiding, Inducing or Causing Aggravated Battery, which carries a 20-year sentence.
Bradbury had previously been granted a new trial, following claims that a jailhouse informant was coached by investigators into lying under oath. As ABC57 reported, it's just one of multiple cases making these allegations.
The Prosecutor's Office, announcing Bradbury's plea, said both parties agree to recognize "the Court's finding that there was no misconduct by the state or investigators".
Another convicted murderer making claims of intentionally fabricated testimony, Jermaine Munn, is requesting a special prosecutor in his attempt to overturn charges.
An evidentiary hearing for Munn's case is scheduled March 22.
