LA PORTE AND STARKE COUNTIES, Ind. - INDOT announced part of State Road 39 will be closed between C.R. West 1800 South and State Road 8 starting April 19.
The closure will be in place through early June for a bridge deck overlay project over the Kankakee River.
Drivers are asked to seek an alternative route.
There will be a detour that follows State Road 8, U.S. 35, and U.S. 30.
