Overnight shooting leaves one dead
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – One man is dead following an apparent shooting Friday night.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. last night, South Bend police notified the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit of a gunshot victim who had been pulled over on Michigan St.
It was determined that the victim had been shot at a different location.
The victim, Juwan Marquise Hamilton, 28, was seen driving erratically by Indiana State Police troopers, and when the police pulled him over, the victim fell out of the vehicle in noticeable pain.
The troopers and a civilian called an ambulance and performed life-saving measures on the man.
Despite being transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment, the victim died from his injuries.
Metro Homicide is still trying to determine the location of the shooting.
