Some twenty-ounce YETI travel mugs are being recalled due to concerns that the magnetic slider on the lid can eject and hot contents could spill out, which could pose injury and burn hazards, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

YETI Rambler 20 ounce travel mugs with Stronghold Lids with the date code 34204010 are included in the recall.

Two reports of the magnetic slider being ejected after being sealed with hot liquid have been made. No injuries have been reported.

The mug was sold between October 1 and October 9, according to YETI.

Anyone with the mug should stop using it and visit Yeti’s website for instructions on returning the lid for a refund, according to the CPSC.

YETI issued the following statement regarding the recall:

“We are issuing a voluntary product recall of the Rambler® 20 oz Travel Mug with Stronghold Lid after learning the lid’s MagSlider™ and mug contents can be expelled if the mug is filled with hot liquid, sealed with the lid, and shaken, which poses an injury hazard.

The product was available for purchase through yeti.com from October 1, 2020 through October 9, 2020 and about 15,000 units were sold. No injuries have been reported."

Visit the CPSC's website for more information about the recall.
