One person injured in crash on U.S. 12 in Porter Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - One person was injured in a single vehicle crash on U.S. 12 in Porter Township Tuesday night, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

At 11:03 p.m., deputies were called to the intersection of U.S. 12 and M-40 for a personal injury crash.

According to the investigation, a 19-year-old Union resident was driving east on U.S. 12 when he crossed the center line, into the oncoming lane of traffic, and left the road.

The vehicle hit an embankment and rolled until it came to a stop on the driver side door.

The driver was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Seat belts were worn during the incident.

Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, reports said.
