One injured in Cass County crash in Silver Creek Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- On Friday, April 4 at 9:19 p.m., Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of M-51 and M-152 in Silver Creek Township.
In the investigation, 70-year-old Decatur resident Kerry Darrigan was northbound on M-51 when he approached a vehicle that was stopped on M-51 at the intersection of M-152. This vehicle did not remain on the scene of the crash. This vehicle gave a hand signal for 31-year-old Geneva, Illinois resident Chase Henricks to cross east over M-51 from M-152. Darrigan passed the stopped vehicle on the right as Henricks was crossing the intersection which resulted in the crash.
Darrigan's passenger, 69-year-old Cathy Darrigan, went to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash. All parties were wearing seat belts. The incident remains under investigation. Wayne Township Fire Department and Sister Lakes Fire Department assisted the Cass County Sheriff's Office with the incident.
